ABOUT REBECCA MEDINA SNYDER

I know what it feels like to experience self-doubt and low self-esteem.

At times, I struggled with feeling “not good enough” and unlovable.

I have experienced painful relationship losses and thought they were because something was wrong with me.

My own journey with therapy is what allowed me to heal and develop self-compassion.

Becoming a therapist has allowed me to help others find their own personal path to healing, connection and joy.

"I'm so thankful for the work we did together. It really was the catalyst for me to live in much healthier ways. On our first phone call, I felt an instant connection with you. I’m very fortunate to have found you.”

Through my own personal therapy and healing journey, I was able to challenge my mistaken and shame-based beliefs about myself and the world and begin to trust that I could put myself “out there” and that my worst fears would not come true.

My own struggles with loving myself and, ultimately, my journey of healing and self-compassion help me to empathize with others and to understand the importance of vulnerability if we want to feel joy and connection and move toward our goals.

Through therapy, I offer a space of safety, connection, and healing so that the light within you can reveal itself and shine.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a therapist.

I have always been drawn to hearing other people’s stories, understanding what motivates us to do what we do, and connecting emotionally with others in times of pain or struggle.

I love going for trail runs…

I feel most alive when I am in nature and moving my body. If I can listen to a funny podcast and laugh while I’m running, then I’m in bliss! I love to bring humor into all areas of my life and love laughing with others. I have also been practicing yoga as long as I have been practicing therapy and find both to be continual places of growth, learning, and invigoration.

I come from a multi-ethnic family…

I come from a multi-ethnic family and, while I struggled with feeling different and not fitting in during my youth, have come to see this as the source of my ability to connect with all kinds of people and, particularly, with people who also feel different, for one reason or another. I have come to recognize this uniqueness as a strength and something to be celebrated, rather than hidden away.
